Other Resources to Support Exceptionalities

British Columbia has a policy manual to help inform parents, education workers, and anyone who supports neurodivergent learners. In their manual, they break down what supports are out there for the different designations. 

The Provincial Outreach Program for Autistic and Related Disorders (POPARD) is a resource that provides training to schools in order to support those with exceptionalities. POPARD also has different resources for parents to help support transitions through visual schedules and behaviour monitoring.

Shelley Moore is an inclusion expert that provides resources on how to make a learning environment meet everyone's needs. She provides handouts, videos, podcasts, and books to help educators and families learn more about what adaptations and modifications can be made to support all.

The Davidson Institute is an accredited institute based out of Nevada. The Davidson Institute has different programs for Gifted Learners in the U.S and Canada. They provide support and resources for parents whose children are accepted into their programs. 

This resource provides information to parents to hold those who are working with students with exceptionalities accountable. It provides case studies to help you to understand the agency that you have in your child's education. 

Inclusion BC provides a handout about information for teens and adolescence transitioning to either post-secondary or independent living.
